Patient Billing Advocate

Job Purpose — Generate revenue by making payment arrangements; collecting on outstanding patient-owed receivables; monitoring and pursuing current and delinquent accounts.

Duties — Work with patients to educate them on how their medical insurance works. Handle a high volume of incoming and outgoing phone calls in a highly professional and helpful manner. Identify trends and recommendations that will allow for improvement of overall reimbursement of our customers, which are DME/IV medical providers.

Skills Necessary

  • Knowledge of medical billing practices and/or the DME/IV industry a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment dealing with a high volume of calls

Third-Party Collection Specialists

Job Purpose — Generate revenue by making payment arrangements; collecting on outstanding patient-owed receivables; monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts that are in a third-party collection agency status.

Skip Tracers

Job Purpose — Provide skip tracing functions to support our collection efforts. Skip tracing consists of locating patients contact information and verifying it.

Duties — Use of various Internet based services to locate patient information, making phone calls to verify information and to obtain further contact information for patients. Update databases with correct patient demographic information, and work within several software systems to perform these duties.

Administrative/Clerical Associates

Job Purpose — Provide administrative support to all Billing/Pre-Collection and Third-Party Collection activities.

Duties — Prepare and mail bills and statements to patients, determine proper inserts and dunning letters to include with bills/statements, maintain postage logs, payment/adjustment posting, research and update data bases with correct patient demographic information, and work within several software systems to perform these duties.

Skills Necessary

  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Ability to work with accuracy in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
  • Basic computer and Internet skills
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel including good typing skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment but also independently

Consultants & Trainers

Job Purpose — Provide consulting, training and project services to HME/DME providers. Services revolve around Billing, Collections, Reimbursement, Customer Service/Intake, and Software Structure and Optimization.

Duties — Provide on-site and remote services to DME/HME providers across the country. Services include analysis of current processes and the ability to make recommendations for efficiency and effectiveness improvements, training on Best Practices of the industry, development and implementation of work flow plans, provide written instructions/training documentation and professional summary reports, and understanding and optimization of software applications. Compliance auditing and instruction on Medicare and other payer requirements.

Skills Necessary

  • Must have at least 5 years experience in DME/HME or related suppliers preferably in a leadership or trainer role within Customer Service/Intake and/or Reimbursement with a proven track record of success
  • Technical report and instruction writing skills
  • Ability to deliver clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Power software user and ability to work within multiple applications
  • Previous experience with software conversions a plus
  • Professional customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing requirements
